I know, it isnt even Halloween yet, WHY!!! are talking about christmas? Well, as a crafter, I need to make things in advance to sell at craft fairs and on Etsy. Truth is I started about a month ago. But, I love this time of year. The weather changes, the leaves change too. It just screams holiday season.
So, I wanted to share with you this tree I made last night. It is actually on the cover of our Holiday Gift Guide.
As soon as I saw this cover I could not wait until the paper was available to order. The paper is cute. Not traditional in any way, but really works with those basic colors of green and red. It’s called Sparkle&Shine. It will be available for all of you to purchase starting on the 15th of October.
During this month, I will be featuring this tree as my kit of the month item.
If you would like to join this club it is very simple. You make a 6 month commitment to purchase 25.00 minimum to participate. Each person in the club will have their time to be the “hostess”. That means that she is entitled to 25.00 free merchandise from the current catalog, and she can get more free items if she chooses by inviting friends and family to place orders during her month. It is completely up to the individual how much she will gain in free product, no obligation other then the 25.00 a month. It is a great way to build on your craft supplies.
Of course, there are always specials during each month. Please email me directly to sign up for the 6 month commitment.
If you dont want to commit, that cool too. I run monthly kit classes as well as the clubs.
I made a slide show to showcase my Halloween Party Pack. Do you decorate your home or office for this fun Holiday? Well, why not have me do it for you. This is not of course it will be displayed, but I can customize your party pack to suit your needs. You can pick and choose what you want in your party pack, so it can easily fit any budget you may be working with. I hope you see something you like. Please leave any comments, I love to hear your thought. Enjoy!

Fabric and Frame
Categories: ART ATTACK
One way to add texture, color, and pattern to a piece of home décor is with fabric. The new Chantilly textiles make it easy to embellish with fabrics that include the beautiful colors and patterns that are typical of Close To My Heart. In the frame décor featured on page 16 of the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book, pieces of Pear damask and Buttercup polka-dot fabric from the Chantilly textiles, as well as burlap ribbon, add a little something extra to a standard white frame. Follow these simple steps to incorporate fabric into an embellished frame that you can hang anywhere.
1. Determine how long you’d like the finished ribbon and bow. This is based on the size of your frame and if you’ll be hanging it. If you are hanging it on a wall or door, you’ll need enough ribbon to wrap around the top of the frame a couple of times and still have a long strip coming out the back of the frame.
2. Cut enough strips of fabric to equal your desired length, making sure the strips are about 3½” wide to wrap around the burlap ribbon.
3. Sew the short ends of the strips together to create one long strip that equals the finished size you need for the project.
4. Fold the long fabric strip around a piece of burlap ribbon of the same size and secure temporarily with a straight pin.
5. With a sewing machine, carefully sew four straight lines down the length of the fabric-wrapped burlap ribbon. This will keep the burlap from moving around or bunching up inside the fabric.
6. Loop and hot glue the fabric-wrapped burlap ribbon around the top of the frame a couple of times so that it is nice and sturdy for handling and hanging.
7. Tie the remaining fabric-wrapped burlap ribbon into a large bow. Fold the tails of the bow into a wave and hot glue to the frame to secure the shape.
8. Embellish frame with accessories, as desired.
Easy, isn’t it? Now you have a beautiful piece of fabric-embellished home décor that you can show off to friends, family, and especially your customers! Check out the Chantilly and For Always textiles in the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book to get your creative juices flowing for more project ideas with fabric.
Hello to all you crafty folks. It has been a while since being ready to write. I took a bit of a break from crafting anything, but chose instead to educate myself a little more on different techniques used in scrapbooking. It seems there is no shortage of different ways to ink a stamp and transfer that to paper…neatly The reason I needed to stop jumping in blindly, I was signing up to do swaps in a couple of groups I participate in- without knowing the technique. I thought I could just wing it. Turned out awful and I wasted not only time but some expensive card stock to boot. In the upcoming months, I will be sharing these techniques here on my blog.
Along the same line of news….I have re-joined Close To My Heart, as a consultant. They now offer 2 ways to get started. For those on a budget, there is a 49.00 sign up deal. That still gets you a good deal of new products, your discount,a shopping website that is available to new consultants free of charge. That is a huge deal, e-commerce sites usually run about 25-49 dollars per month. http://creat-w-kat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Consultant_EssentialsKit.jpg
I have always loved CTMH’s product line. The variety is good, I love the exclusive ink colors they have now. If you like to stamp like I do, you just cant go wrong with this company. I think the style is classic. I have seen lines that a cartoonish, and that has never appealed to me. The other incentive that was for new consultants signing up in May only, is the rest of the stamp of the month set’s from April-July. I am a sucker for free stamps! Just look at them
Generally, these sets are only available for 1 month. Normal retail is 17.95, however, if you spend 50.00 or more, then the stamp is yours for 5.00.
I was lucky enough to take advantage of this new incentive. I just love the stamps of the month. Some of them are just perfect for any occasion. These sets are no exception to the norm
If you are interested in signing up as a consultant, or would like to take a look at the catalog, just visit HTTP://katancheta.ctmh.com.
