When I am lacking concentration, I usually turn to doing something that will keep my attention. For me, it is making flowers for cards, layouts and home decor. You almost always need flowers for embellishments so I make sure to a bunch at one time and keep my stash going.
I will be making a tutorial in the next few days so keep an eye on your inbox! Of course you must follow me to get the updates. Scroll down till you see the Linky Followers button, it is that easy.

Treat Bag for Tweens!
Happy April everyone!.
I have had a busy month in March, now I am ready to start a new month with some goals I need to reach.
Easter is just one week away, and I have 3 Grand daughters to create for. One is 12 and I was trying to get away from anything to little kiddish. After all, she is getting older and a bit more sophisticated. I remember wanting my brother’s and sister to view me as growing up, and not the baby anymore. So, I made a darling treat bag that looks like a purse. Take a look below:
I used my Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. Through Cricut Craft Room, I was able to size it to the max you can cut on a 12×12 sheet of design paper, which is 61/4 .

I cut 2 scallops from co-ordinating paper, also from CTMH-Sonoma Collection. I ended up trimming the scallops down to about half size, because of it closing like a purse it was too thick if I went on all sides. So, I put it on the front and back only.
I cut out the front flap in neutral card stock and distressed it to give it some interest and put a cute stitched brad on the front.
Lastly, I braided some hemp and tied it around a wooden butterfly that I stamped in Gypsy, and secured it with hot glue. The idea here is she can remove it and put it on her real purse or maybe a key chain embellishment. I resisted the urge to make it sparkle and I am glad I left it as is. I like that you can tell it is wooden.
And finally looking at it I thought it looked to heavy on the bottom, so I added some durables in bronze to the handle. I think it balanced it out nicely.
There you have it! Very simple project for a bit of a twist on gift bags. If you would like to try your hand I have included the cut file below.
As always, any and all comments are appreciated. If you need to purchase the Art Philosophy cartridge, just email me and we will get you taken care of.
Happy Easter Crafting!
